September 5, 2010. Capetown.
August 26, 2010. Today we are driving to Essen, Germany for the project Warten auf den Fluss. Given the current weather conditions I see no reason we will not be seeing a lot of water.
August 23, 2010. This evening I'm flying to Athens. As usual, my stay (as in any location) is super short. I'm flying back tomorrow lunch time. I'll be looking for images for my series about Greek Gods. It's not really about Gods but the phrase comes to mind. It's more about the theater of the Greeks. The natural theater that you find on the streets which makes the Greek a natural actor. The phrase which I found some time ago is in Dutch and definitely loses some of its eloquence in my translation so my apologies : "De grieken spelen met volledige toewijding hun rol in de tragikomedie van het menselijk bestaan. Zij zijn het enige volk van de natuurlijke acteurs." - A den Doolaard. [The Greeks play their part in the tragic-comedy with complete dedication. They are the only nation of natural actors.] He also said that the Greeks hate to be alone.
"The Protagonist".
August 20, 2010. More African compositions. Labadi Beach, Ghana last Sunday. They will be on show at a group exhibition 'Homo Ludens' at Van Kranendonk Gallery in The Hague from October 16.

August 16, 2010. Yesterday afternoon I photographed at Labadi Beach in Accra, Ghana. I will put up new images as I finish scanning. Flying back to Amsterdam last night we saw falling stars from the cockpit window. It was fantastic.
August 6, 2010. I was just in Lagos. We weren't allowed to leave the hotelgrounds for security reasons. So I watched the wind blow.

I went back to the location of one of my favorite images "Wallpaper". Weather conditions were different, as was the light. The wall painted and fingerprints wiped out.

Just as I arrived a man walked past the wall with some flowers. He was not allowed to be photographed.
